Travel Tips
St Lucia lies at latitude 13 54’ north of the Equator and 60 50’ west. One of the Windward Islands, it is located in the middle of the Eastern Caribbean chain of islands and is approximately 21 miles south of Martinique and 90 miles northwest of Barbados.
The BodyHoliday is located on the Northwest tip of the Caribbean island of St. Lucia and sits directly on Cariblue’s crescent beach - surrounded by 42 acres of lush tropical gardens. The island is serviced by all major airlines. It is a thirty minute drive from the capital Castries and the George F.L. Charles airport. It is a one and a half hour drive from Hewanorra International airport.
Helicopter transfers are available from Hewanorra International airport into George F.L. Charles airport. Flight time is approximately 20 minutes and is only available during daylight hours.
While many of our guests never leave the resort, others want to experience the island on their own. If you want to rent a car while you’re here, we recommend Beez Car Rental. You can make your arrangements online at www.beezcarrentals.com prior to your arrival. Alternatively upon arrival, The BodyHoliday Concierge will be happy to assist you.
The weather
As with many Caribbean islands, visitors to St. Lucia should expect hot and humid weather conditions year round due to the island's proximity to the equator. Fortunately, you will rarely feel uncomfortable as mild trade winds bring cool breezes off the water, offering some respite from the heat.
The average temperature in St. Lucia ranges from 70 degrees Fahrenheit to the upper 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity on the island averages between 70 percent and 90 percent throughout the year.
Due to its location near the equator, St. Lucia does not have very well defined seasons. There is however a rainy season that generally falls somewhere between June and November. During this season, you should be prepared for heavy, but sporadic showers that form quickly. You should not worry about travelling during the rainy season as the showers may form quickly, but blue skies are quick to follow.
What to pack
We are chic-casual at The BodyHoliday although many of our guests enjoy putting on the sparkles for evening drinks, dinner and entertainment. Whatever your personal style, it’s probably just fine but we recommend no jeans in the evening.
For the tennis players, please note that although tennis racquets are available, you must bring your own non-marking tennis shoes.
For the exercise enthusiast, it is recommended that you bring your favourite exercise clothing and footwear. Proper footwear is recommended for all activities including cycling, walking, jogging, aerobics, stretch classes and yoga.
For everyone – Don’t forget your dancing shoes.
We also recommend that you pack your favourite mosquito repellent. We spray the entire resort on a weekly basis. But as you know, if you’re sweet enough one of them will find you.
What if you forget something?
There’s an on-site retail store where you can purchase toiletries, from toothpaste to hair spray, clothing and souvenirs. And our staff is happy to search out “that special something” for you, just ask.
With all this in your travel bag, you should have everything you need for a spectacular holiday with us.
